Markus Fischer

Director Technical Compliance at SCS Concept Deutschland GmbH

Mr Fischer is a trained carpenter, fastening engineer (Certified by the German Fastening Association) and has been working in fastening technology for almost 20 years. For four years he was leading a certified academy in the field of fastening technology and was responsible for the analytics and process optimization team. He then worked for the same international company for a further four years as the specialist for technical standardization and legislation. He was 2nd Chairman of the VDI-GMA Technical Committee 3.63 “Measuring and Testing Methods for fastening Technology” and is also an active member of several working groups within this Technical Committee. He is also an elected member of TC 812, which is responsible for VDI 2230 “Calculation of bolted joints”. Since 2019, he has represented the technical committee in several VDA, CEN and ISO standardization working groups in the focus area of bolting and fastening technology. In addition, he is part of the subcommittee for screw assembly in the German Fastening Association (DSV) and a lecturer at the University of Dresden on the subject of machine and process capability as part of the postgraduate course for fastening engineers/technicians. For 5 years he has been part of the SCS Concept Group as Director Technical Compliance – a privately owned company based in Milan, Italy with around 150 employees. The SCS Concept Group is a global manufacturer of testing equipment for machine and process capability in fastening technology, as well as assembly tools, productivity-enhancing software and calibration, software and calibration services. A fastening technology and standards enthusiast to the bone.

Entered the world of “torquing” in 1991, responsible for the production and service of torque transducers for a well-known German manufacturer for the production and analysis of bolted joints (rotating/static as well as torque/angle of rotation and preload). Later technical and commercial management of national and international service for calibration technology systems for rotating and static torque measuring tools and their individual components. Today Key Account Manager for technical sales, Customer support and Training at STAHLWILLE Eduard Wille GmbH und Co. KG in Wuppertal.

Richard Gruber

CEO of Richard Gruber GmbH

After completing secondary school and training as an electronics technician, Richard Gruber worked for several years as a measurement technician in an international EMC test laboratory. After additional training as a master craftsman and information technician, he specialized in the field of bolting technology in October 1999. Until 2006, his main focus was on setting up and managing a DKD/DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory and establishing a technical analysis laboratory for measuring instruments, fastening systems and screw connections. As an independent auditor for ISO, IATF and VDA requirements, he has been supporting various automotive companies in the testing and further development of processes and technical regulations since 2007. In 2013, he opened a training center for classic training methods in bolting technology. Since 2019, the focus has been on the development of digital learning formats and in particular on train-the-trainer programs for the implementation of need-based qualification in bolting technology according to VDI/VDE-MT 2637ff.
